Companion Pets: WoW’s Cutest Addition

If your character is feeling lonely in the gaming world, provide him or her with a critter. These companion pets—also called vanity pets, minipets, or noncombat pets—when summoned will accompany you in your travels. These entities are summoned through a spell in the character’s Pets tab and have the tag .

Critters just like that in the real world are designed to provide extra fun to the game and characters, who develop a certain fondness for such pets. There are 157 pets and have different tricks of their own. They follow your character almost anywhere, but flee to their cages when you hop on flights and have to be resummoned when you use portals. Minipets are passive companions and do not fight alongside with you; there are those that fight but do not help you defeat enemies. If you are looking for pets that fight, look for combat pets instead, which are not considered companion pets. What’s best about these pets are they are extremely “loyal” and can serve as lifetime companions because they can’t be killed during fights.

You can collect as many companion pets as you like without additional cost or regardless of your level; although, you can summon only one at a time. These critters don’t even need to be fed or given water; but if you want your pet to grow for a ferocious image, you can give your pet Papa Hummel’s Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits. You can play with your pets by purchasing additional items like Fetch Ball for the traditional game of fetch, Pet Grooming Kit for an award-winning pet, and Rope Pet Leash to tag your pet around.

These vanity pets can be the envy of other gamers especially when you take hold of rare and hard-to-find pets. You can get your pet from quest rewards, vendor drops, achievement rewards, auction houses, and others. Minipets can also be sold to other players or put up for auction if you have the BoU (bind on use) pets. Other so-called BoA (bind on account) pets may be shared and mailed to others on the same account. The BoP (bind on pickup) pets are not sellable or transferrable. Remember that any pet can no longer be sold once the pet summoning spell has been learned.

For that extra gaming flair, choose one of your pets from WarcraftPets.com to find which pet suits your character best.

Character Re-Spec: When to Say Yes and When to Say No

In World of Warcraft, once you reach the level cap and you start to do instances, one thing you may be asked to do is to re-spec. So what is a re-spec? Re-spec basically mean to change or revamp your specialization. You see, in World of Warcraft, even after choosing one race and one class for your character, you would still need to make one more big decision when it comes to its growth. That would be your class specialization. There are usually three types of specializations for a class. Based on what specialization you choose, you will go through a particular growth path that is unique from any other specialization. Your spells skills and strength are based on these. For example, if you’re a paladin, you can either specialize on Retribution, protection or Holy. Retribution is a damage-inflicting path. Protection is a hardening and defensive path. Holy, on the other hand, is a healing path.

The biggest question you might ask is when to say yes or no to a request for a re-spec. Basically, you only say yes to a re-spec request if the team you are working with is a long-term team, such your guild raiding group. If the group that requests it is just a temporary group, then don’t re-spec. Re-spec costs money and the only time you should invest in such a thing is if you will be using it for a long time. Guild raiding groups usually have linear systems which you need to follow in order to progress. Temporary groups, which are generated randomly, disband right after an instance run. A re-spec for such a temporary setting would be unwise.

Of course, when you do re-spec for your guild raiding group, make sure you familiarize yourself with the new spells and skills you will get. It would do good to practice in low level instances first. You might want to get used to your new form first. You can also read or watch WoW guidelines and tutorials for tips on how to play your new specialization. Do this and you’ll succeed in WoW.

The Most Challenging Races and Classes to Use in World of Warcraft

When it comes to World of Warcraft, there are certain races and classes you might want to avoid if you are a newbie. At the same time, if you are an expert and you’re looking for a good challenge, you might want to try certain races and classes that are difficult to use. World of Warcraft is a game for everyone. The reason behind that statement is the fact that World of Warcraft has races, classes and specializations for everyone, expert or not. Now if you are looking for a challenge or just want to know which races or classes to avoid because they are hard to play, then you might want to look at WoW gaming guides, such as Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide.

But for your benefit, here is a briefer on races, classes and their difficulty levels:

A lot of races and classes are easy to handle when it comes to leveling. But some are exceptionally hard to handle. For example, one of the easiest places to level up, as a newbie, would be in Durotar and the Barrens. This area is located in the Kalimdor continent. The Orc capital, Orgrimmar, and Tauren capital, Thunderbluff, are quite near these areas. If you want to have it easy, try picking one of these races for your first character. If you want a challenge, though, the best race to go for is Undead. Their area is one of the hardest starting areas to go through. There are a lot of high-level instances and enemies around and the surrounding territories of Lordaeron (the general Undead area) are difficult to cover as well. Once you go through an Undead start, you’ll have an easier time playing other characters.

For classes, the hardest ones to use would be priest and paladin. These two are very hard to train at game start because they are very hard to level up. Paladins have low damage at game start while priests have low defense. By end game, though, you can reap the rewards as these two are the most in demand and powerful classes in WoW.

The Spell Casters in World of Warcraft – Warlocks, Priests and Mages

Like in any online role-playing game, World of Warcraft has a myriad of character classes you can choose from. As of the last expansion set, the Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft basically has ten classes you can choose from. These classes are basically categorized further into smaller groups. There are the melee fighters, like the rouge and warrior. There are the tanks, like the paladin and the death knight. But one of the most powerful groups in World of Warcraft (as well as other online RPGs) is the spell caster group. Spell casters are basically comprised of warlocks, priests and mages. These classes consume mana and use spell power to heal, protect or inflict damage.

Now leveling of spell caster can be both hard and easy. The easiest of the three to level would be the warlock, since it is the only spell caster that has the ability to summon a demon aid to help it fight its battles. Warlocks generally use shadow magic to inflict damage. Priests, on the other hand, are more versatile. They can either be holy-based as healers, protection based as discipline priests, or damage inflictors as shadow priests. But priests are a bit tricky. At first, they have really low health and inflict little damage. But once they reach their higher levels, they are one of the most sought after classes in both raiding and in PvP. Mages are, off the bat, very powerful. Unlike the other two spell casters, they use elemental magic. The only thing about them is that they consume so much mana that they need to replenish almost every after fight. The good news is that they can conjure their own drinks for mana regeneration.

In World of Warcraft, spell casters are always put in high regard. As long as you know how to do your job and as long as you fit in your PvP or raiding group, you’ll be indispensible. Of these three, though, the most sought after is the priest because of its versatility. For more tips and information on spell casters, read WoW guidebooks.

Hunters and Warlocks: The Best Characters for World of Warcraft Newbies

When it comes to gaming, a noob or newbie is what you call someone who’s new to the game. The term noob can be derogatory as some players use it to criticize another player for lack of knowledge and skill; but generally, being a newbie isn’t bad and one shouldn’t be ashamed of being one. The newbie status is but a transitional phase and one can easily get pass the stage after one gets more experience. One particular online game is very friendly to both newbies and experts. That game is World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is one of the most amazing games today. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that revolves around the lore of Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft. World of Warcraft may be a very complicated game and a preference of hardcore gaming aficionados, but it is also a very newbie-friendly game.

The reason why World of Warcraft is a newbie-friendly game is because, as a newbie, you have the option to create a character that’s easy to level and play. Now not all characters are easy to use. Based on your class, you can have an easy or a difficult time leveling. There are great classes you can choose if you want to have it easy at first. Two of the easiest classes to use are the hunter class and the warlock class. The reason why these two are easy to use is because they both have the ability to summon a secondary character to their aid. A hunter is usually accompanies by a beast, like a big cat, a bear or even a dinosaur. A warlock, on the other hand, has the ability to summon a demon, like a succubus or an imp. This ability is not available to other classes.

Having a secondary character or aid is really very helpful in game play. Everything is made easier by this. If you want to start off easy, create a hunter or a warlock character and make them lock their specializations on beast mastery and demonology respectively. This will make leveling a lot easier.
