If your character is feeling lonely in the gaming world, provide him or her with a critter. These companion pets—also called vanity pets, minipets, or noncombat pets—when summoned will accompany you in your travels. These entities are summoned through a spell in the character’s Pets tab and have the tag
Critters just like that in the real world are designed to provide extra fun to the game and characters, who develop a certain fondness for such pets. There are 157 pets and have different tricks of their own. They follow your character almost anywhere, but flee to their cages when you hop on flights and have to be resummoned when you use portals. Minipets are passive companions and do not fight alongside with you; there are those that fight but do not help you defeat enemies. If you are looking for pets that fight, look for combat pets instead, which are not considered companion pets. What’s best about these pets are they are extremely “loyal” and can serve as lifetime companions because they can’t be killed during fights.
You can collect as many companion pets as you like without additional cost or regardless of your level; although, you can summon only one at a time. These critters don’t even need to be fed or given water; but if you want your pet to grow for a ferocious image, you can give your pet Papa Hummel’s Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits. You can play with your pets by purchasing additional items like Fetch Ball for the traditional game of fetch, Pet Grooming Kit for an award-winning pet, and Rope Pet Leash to tag your pet around.
These vanity pets can be the envy of other gamers especially when you take hold of rare and hard-to-find pets. You can get your pet from quest rewards, vendor drops, achievement rewards, auction houses, and others. Minipets can also be sold to other players or put up for auction if you have the BoU (bind on use) pets. Other so-called BoA (bind on account) pets may be shared and mailed to others on the same account. The BoP (bind on pickup) pets are not sellable or transferrable. Remember that any pet can no longer be sold once the pet summoning spell has been learned.
For that extra gaming flair, choose one of your pets from WarcraftPets.com to find which pet suits your character best.
