One of the hardest things that most players face is finding the special items that can be extremely lucrative or effective in certain situations. You can make a ton of extra cash by selling these items in the auction house or to vendors. This is why we decided to put together this guide to help you find all these special items.
Stonescale Eels – You will have to head to the coasts of Kalimdor to get these, but they still might be difficult to find. Late at night is the best time to look for them. These should be worth around 1g piece each.
Black Lotus – To find this item you will have to go to the cave of the blue dragon located in Winterspring. Eastern Plaguelands and the Badlands might produce this item but I wouldn’t recommend spending too much time looking in those locations.
Larval Acid – Head to the Eastern Plaguelands to start grinding slugs, which luckily have a really high drop rate so it wont be too hard. These yield big rewards and will fetch around 10 gold pieces.
Blood of the Mountain – If you plan on mastering your profession you will need this item and it will also be required for some quests later on in the game. You will be able to find this in the Searing Mountains by mining in the Dark Nodes. You will have no problem selling these if you wish, either.
Essence of Water – This item is a great way to earn a lot of gold as you can get them from grinding mobs in Felwoods which have a really high drop rate.
Dark Runes – These can be found in Scholo by killing mobs and you will definitely not have a hard time getting rid of these as they are necessary for certain tasks throughout the game.
Tips for The Auction House
Having a great strategy for the auction house is essential as you will have to make the majority of your money by selling items there. In order to get an idea for what’s in demand and what prices certain items are going for at the time you will want to spend a good amount of time in the auction house simply observing everything that is going on.
The items that you sell in the auction house will be given a base price but you have to make sure you don’t set your prices too low or high. You will be able to increase the price if you feel its possible to still sell it. In the evenings is typically the best time to hold your auctions as this is when there will be the most players around looking to buy items. You will find an auction in the middle of the night wont yield as many players.
You have to make sure you are not selling items that are already quite abundant. You may consider trying to get rid of all of the stuff that you don’t want, but this isn’t going to get you rich by any means. Mixing more unique items with common items will make your overall auction offering seem more attractive and will help you keep buyers around. It’s easier to get better prices for common prices when they are being sold next to high quality items rather than just among a bunch of the same.
It important you don’t undercut other sellers in order to steal their business and dominate the market. This can lead to you running the value or market for an item and will cause you to gain many enemies. You will find your overall experience at the auction house to be much better if you stick setting fair, reasonable prices.
