World of Warcraft Cooking Guide

While it might not be considered necessary or essrntial by any means, cooking is one of those skills that can be extremely effective in combination with other professions such as fishing. The main reason players will appreciate cooking is the fact that, when done right, you can earn a lot of gold quite quickly and definitely have more fun than simply grinding. If you are sick of grinding like so many of us WoW and RPG players, you might want to give cooking a shot.

The cooking profession was traditionally something that many WoW players look down on and never give a try, but what many don’t realize is Burning Crusade created a lot more chances to excel with cooking than ever before. Since not many players are not cooking, you can make things that other players will want and be able to earn a lot of gold this way.

Lets Begin

Of course the first thing you will need to cook is a fire. However, in order to get a fire you will first have to collect some required items. You will have to collect Simple Wood, Tinder, and Flint. You shouldn’t have too much trouble finding these items, however, as they are quite abundant. Once you have done this, the next step is to open your spellbook and use the “Basic Campfire” ability to create the fire. Training at this point isn’t necessary as everyone has this ability.

Within your Spellbook you will also be able to locate your cookbook. From your cookbook you will be able to look at the recipes that you have available to use. Something that you should be keeping in mind is the fact that you should only create a fire when ready to use a recipe as your fire will only last for a few minutes and you’ll always have to buy more wood. All you have to do to begin cooking is select the ingredients for any given recipe.

Sometimes you will want to use a recipe but not have all the require items. For example, lets go over the ingredients and items you have to purchase from a vendor for the Crocolisk Steak recipe. You will need one set of Mild Spices as well as one Crocolisk Meat.

Its important to remember before moving forward you will have to complete your apprenticeship. Get ready to spend a little gold in order to make more as you will have to purchase items and skills you need from a cooking trainer. As long as you keep advancing and doing quests, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting your hands on all of the items you require for specific recipes.

Advancing

Creating advanced recipes will require you to get some items that are a bit harder to find than the average. Luckily we got a few good methods for you to progress your skill from 1 through 375. First you will need to head to Ironforge. Spiced Bread will be your first advanced recipe and you will be able to get mild spices and flour from the Ironforge to make it. By doing this you will be able to advance right to 40 with not much effort at all. Once you have compelted that, get yourself some more wood and 30 mild spices. Next you should try to find a Moonkin in Auberdine and kill it until you have 20 eggs at the very least. By doing this you will be able to advance to skill level 60 in not much time at all.

Next you will need to get clams which can be quite easy by grinding Crawlers in the south of Ashenvale. Once you are satisfied with amount of clams you have collected, you can start heading back to Ironforge. Once you have cooked the Moonkin’s eggs, you can sell them for quite a decent amount of money. In order to cook the clams that you have collected you will have to visit a cooking trainier to learn some new skills. At this point you will most likely have your skill level around 130 and will be able to get your hands on the expert cookbook that will easily take you up to 375.
