World of Warcraft Horde Guide

The Basics and Making Gold

Selecting the right race when creating a character for the Horde faction is absolutely essential to having success with that character. While each of the five races will have different advantages, each of the classes including Trolls, Blood Elves, Undead, Orcs, and Tauren all have certain disadvantages as well.

Blood Elves

Magical powers are synonymous with the Blood Elves race. It’s thought that this race moved to the Horde faction after being part of the High Elves at one point. Those that are interested in using strategy for combat rather than just brash; in your face tactics will appreciate this class. The quality skills you will want to take advantage with this class include Mana Tap which will protect your group from having their cast magic spells reduced by enemies and can also drain the enemy of your enemies. The Arcane Torrent is another effective skill of the Blood Elves and can silence your enemies from up to eight yards.

Undead

The Forsaken as they are known in the playable race, are extremely powerful in many combat situations and typically focus on casting spells. Those that want a varied selection of combat skills will enjoy this race. You will be able to reduce fear, the need to sleep, or your ability to become charmed with the Will of the Forsaken trait. Underwater Breathing and Shadow Resistance are other useful traits for the Undead.

Trolls

The Darkspear is currently the only character that is playable from the Trolls race. These characters are known for their incredibly huge size and massive amount of power during battle, which make them ideal for players that like to focus on combat. You will be able to take advantage of their many great traits including Beast Slaying, Regeneration, and Beserking, which allows you to let loose an unbelievable attack on any enemy.

Orcs

The combat abilities of the Orcs make them a great class for those that focus on fighting. They’re not all that versatile, however the Orcs can be an extremely helpful member of your group when in combat. You can reduce an enemie’s ability to heal or increase the efficacy of an attach wit the Orc’s Blood Fury trait. You can also resist attaches and axe specializtion with the Hardiness trait.

Tauren

If you prefer melee in comparison to casting spells all of the time, the Tauren is definitely an ideal choice for the Horde faction. You should always have a Tauren in your group during battle. You will be able to stun enemies with War Stomp trait. You will also be able to resist attacks from enemies with the Endurance trait. The Tauren is always a good idea for those that want to get right into the action. This is why I also commonly recommend it for new WoW players that might be unsure exactly where to start.

When playing with the Horde faction you can quickly spend hours among hours trying to level up during the early stages of the game. Try not to get too focused on taking quest after quest without ever taking time to grind. During the lower levels you will want to make sure you take time on each quest to grind a little bit while you are traveling.
