Like in any online role-playing game, World of Warcraft has a myriad of character classes you can choose from. As of the last expansion set, the Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft basically has ten classes you can choose from. These classes are basically categorized further into smaller groups. There are the melee fighters, like the rouge and warrior. There are the tanks, like the paladin and the death knight. But one of the most powerful groups in World of Warcraft (as well as other online RPGs) is the spell caster group. Spell casters are basically comprised of warlocks, priests and mages. These classes consume mana and use spell power to heal, protect or inflict damage.
Now leveling of spell caster can be both hard and easy. The easiest of the three to level would be the warlock, since it is the only spell caster that has the ability to summon a demon aid to help it fight its battles. Warlocks generally use shadow magic to inflict damage. Priests, on the other hand, are more versatile. They can either be holy-based as healers, protection based as discipline priests, or damage inflictors as shadow priests. But priests are a bit tricky. At first, they have really low health and inflict little damage. But once they reach their higher levels, they are one of the most sought after classes in both raiding and in PvP. Mages are, off the bat, very powerful. Unlike the other two spell casters, they use elemental magic. The only thing about them is that they consume so much mana that they need to replenish almost every after fight. The good news is that they can conjure their own drinks for mana regeneration.
In World of Warcraft, spell casters are always put in high regard. As long as you know how to do your job and as long as you fit in your PvP or raiding group, you’ll be indispensible. Of these three, though, the most sought after is the priest because of its versatility. For more tips and information on spell casters, read WoW guidebooks.
